Law Practice
Kara joined SBH Legal in 2024 and currently represents Oregon employers and insurers in workers’ compensation and related employment defense matters
Before joining SBH Legal, Kara spent three years at a general practice law firm working on various transactional matters including estate planning and administration, business law, and employment law. Before attending law school, Kara spent three and a half years as a claims advocate at a nationally renowned VA Disability Benefits firm where she gained a working knowledge of various medical conditions and disability-related employment issues.
Kara grew up in Rhode Island before making her way to Eugene, Oregon for law school. During law school, Kara clerked at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for two years: first as a law clerk and then as the lead law clerk. She was also the Editor in Chief of the Oregon Review of International Law (ORIL).
When she’s not working, Kara enjoys traveling to far off places, cooking Italian food, and spending time with her potato of a rescue dog, Ellie May.
