Sam joined Sather, Byerly & Holloway, LLP in 2015. He came to Sather Byerly & Holloway with a strong background in workers compensation and insurance defense, which he gained from working with other firms in Oregon and in Washington, D.C. Sam represents Oregon and Washington employers and insurers in workers’ compensation and related employment matters.

Background

Born in Washington, D.C., Sam moved to Oregon as a child. Sam left Oregon to attend the University of Michigan, where he obtained degrees in Philosophy and Spanish. Following college, Sam worked as a river guide in Maryland and at a hotel in Alta, Utah. Eventually Sam made his way back to Oregon, where he attended the University of Oregon Law School. Outside of work, Sam enjoys being outdoors and is an avid backcountry skier, mountain biker, and backpacker.

About Me:

Most exciting trip: Before law school I hiked over 750 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail in California between Mt. Shasta and Mt. Whitney.

Favorite getaway in Oregon: Anywhere near Bend, but especially the Three Sisters Wilderness area
